Henan's foreign trade value nears 380 billion yuan in H1

In the first half of 2023, the import and export value of Central China's Henan province reached 379.95 billion yuan, ranking 11th in China and 1st in Central China, data released by Zhengzhou Customs on July 19. Specifically, 250.58 billion yuan was contributed by exports, up 2.4 percent year-on-year, while 129.37 billion yuan by imports, resulting in a trading surplus of 121.21 billion yuan, an increase of 26.4 percent. In June alone, Henan's foreign trade value saw a month-on-month increase of 5 percent to 59.58 billion yuan.

In the first half of this year, the import and export value of general trade and bonded logistics was increased, while that of processing trade fell. Statistically, the import and export value of general trade and bonded logistics expanded 6.2 percent and 44.9 percent to 152.66 billion yuan (accounting for 40.2 percent of the provincial total, 3.6 percentage points higher than the same period of last year) and 26.02 billion yuan respectively, while that of processing trade fell 6.4 percentage points to 197.68 billion yuan, accounting for 52 percent of the provincial total.

It is worth noting that Henan's trade with the RCEP member countries and the countries along the Belt and Road maintained continuous growth. Over the past six months, the province's trade with the US, the ASEAN, the EU and South Korea reached 71.99 billion yuan, 52.34 billion yuan, 42.54 billion yuan and 34.17 billion yuan respectively. Besides, its trade with the RCEP member countries totaled 116.09 billion yuan with an increase of 4.1 percent, while with the countries along the Belt and Road jumped 11.4 percent to 116.05 billion yuan.
