The new energy power generation output in Central China's Henan province has crossed the 20 million kWh mark for the first time after exceeding 19 million kWh in last December, said the State Grid Henan Electric Power Company on February 2.

At 11:38 a.m. on February 1, Henan's new energy power generation output reached 20.74 million kWh (8.196 million kWh by photovoltaic power stations while the rest by wind), accounting for 42.2 percent of the province's total, an increase of 1.073 million kWh compared with the record high of 19.667 million kWh reported on December 12 of last year.

"The new peak of Henan's new energy power generation output cannot be separated from the rapid development of new energy installed capacity. It is worth noting that the distributed photovoltaic power generation has witnessed a fast growth with an installed capacity reaching 16 million kWh, a year-on-year increase of over 70 percent." According to the State Grid Henan Electric Power Company, at the end of 2022, the installed capacity of Henan's new energy has exceeded 40 million kWh, accounting for over one third of the province's total. The new energy power generation has become the second largest source of power generation in Henan.
